The Cramond Association
The Cramond Association is a thriving community organisation representing everyone living in Cramond, Barnton and Cammo. We are a membership body dedicated to encouraging more people to take an active interest in the local area and to ensure the preservation, development and improvement of both its environment and people, for the benefit of all. We are directly involvement in many issues of local importance – such as the reopening of the Cramond Inn, the future of the Cramond Campus site, the continued monitoring of airport noise and development -as well as managing a packed programme of public meetings & events.
Cramond Heritage Trust
In 1978 the Cramond Heritage Trust was formed to encourage the preservation and improvement of features of natural and historical interest within the Association’s area. The Trust has full charity status as an SCIO. Since then it has provided information, advice and acted as a pressure group to ensure the retention and maintenance of the many and varied heritage sites in the area. They maintain their Interpretation and Education Centre “The Maltings” in the very heart of the village at 6 Riverside (beside the steps). Check out their guided walks.
Cramond & Barnton Community Council
Cramond and Barnton Community Council has nine elected representatives; six nominated representatives proposed by local interest groups and five associate representatives. The local authority has a duty to consult Community Councils on how local services are delivered and other issues affecting their neighbourhoods.Community Councils have the right to be consulted on any planning applications in their area and also kept informed about licensing applications.
Friends of Cammo
We are a group of local people who have joined together to look after Cammo Estate Local Nature Reserve and maintain it as a wonderful natural space for everyone to enjoy. We do daily maintenance work such as litter picking and path clearance, as well as larger projects to improve biodiversity in the park.
