River Almond Path refurbishment

The City of Edinburgh Council Natural Heritage Service has secured funding to refurbish the River Almond Walkway from Haugh Park to Cammo Road. Works are due to begin on the 7th May. The route will remain open throughout the duration of works, please adhere to any warning signage or contractors instructions when out on site. Most of the work will be done using micro-machinery and by hand given the restrictions due to width and drop-offs in the vicinity of the path.

Works consist of path surface re-grading, renewal of path edging where very poor, complete and partial renewal of steps, installation of handrail and installation of drainage.

The duration of works should be no longer than 3 weeks but given the difficulties with access, topography etc, this could extend.

Please circulate this information as widely as possible to those you feel may need to be made aware.
